Dr. Sonali Kohli, dermatologist and venereologist at Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital told that there are two types of sweating glands in our body. an eccrine gland and an apocrine gland
Eccrine gland: Eccrine glands are located in most parts of the body and open directly onto the surface of the skin. They are responsible for helping to regulate body temperature. When the body temperature rises, these glands release fluid in the form of sweat which helps in cooling the body when it becomes dry.
apocrine glandApocrine glands are found in areas that have hair. Like in your armpit and groin. Apocrine gland starts functioning in adult age. This is the reason why there is no body odor in childhood.
